Henley Ion is developing a platform of ionics-based medical and biodefense technologies, several of which are independently validated, with NIH grant support and submitted SBIR Phase I proposals. We work with strategic and financial partners who want to help move validated science from the lab to the field.
Two foundational technologies, six product applications, NIH grant support with submitted SBIR Phase I proposals, independent validation (Tulane, LSU), and a regulatory path built on an FDA-cleared predicate device — a diversified, de-risked early-stage opportunity rather than a single-product bet.
Traction to date
- Independent validation — 99.8% removal of aerosolized SARS-CoV-2 at Tulane (BSL-3)
- LSU pre-clinical studies — needle-free dental anesthesia in ~4 minutes
- NIH grant support (mask / TB-transmission control) and submitted SBIR Phase I proposals
- Granted & pending patents, incl. US 11,201,232 B2
- Peer-reviewed publication in Viruses (2022)
- Regulatory path built on the FDA-cleared Medion iontophoresis predicate
Milestones ahead
- Secure development & manufacturing partners; build production tooling
- Advance the lead devices to first clinical and field trials (dental clinical trial planned for 2027)
- Pursue 510(k) clearance on the FDA-cleared predicate path
- First market entry, then expand across the six-application platform
One platform reaches large, established markets — advanced wound care, respiratory protection and PPE, dental anesthesia, and air purification. Detailed market sizing and the current round are in the investor materials.
Detailed materials — including the technical summaries, validation data, and the current round — are available under NDA to qualified investors.
